Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a fire at a disused church in Edinburgh.

The building on Stanley Place in the Abbeyhill area of the city was completely destroyed after it was engulfed by flames at about 17:15 on Monday.

Lothian and Borders Police said two boys, aged 15 and 13, had been charged with culpable and reckless conduct.

A report will be submitted to the children's reporter.

About 40 firefighters tackled the fire, which caused disruption to rush-hour traffic. No-one was injured.
