Thieves left Murraysgate Industrial Estate worker tied up

Three thieves who tied up a worker on a West Lothian industrial site before stealing a large quantity of cigarettes and money are being sought by police.

The man was only freed when he was discovered 90 minutes after the incident at Murraysgate Industrial Estate at 12:30 on Saturday.

One of the thieves was white, in his mid-30s, 5ft 10ins, of stocky build with stubble and a Glasgow accent.

He was wearing a red hat, high visibility jacket and blue trousers.

The other two men were also wearing high visibility jackets.

Det Insp John Wyllie, of Lothian and Borders Police, said: "Fortunately the man was not injured as a result of his ordeal, however it has been a terrible experience for him.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have been in or around the Murraysgate Industrial Estate recently, particularly between 08:00 and 14:30 on Saturday, and who may have been aware of some suspicious activity to contact us.

"Extensive inquiries are under way in the surrounding area and we would appeal for anyone who may have any information regarding this incident to contact us."
