Woman rescued from Edinburgh house fire

A woman has been rescued from a house fire in the east of Edinburgh.

Firefighters were called to Easter Hermitage at 23:10 on Saturday. They found the 38-year-old woman inside the house.

She was treated at the scene by ambulance staff for the effects of smoke inhalation but is not believed to have been seriously hurt.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was caused by a pan with hot oil being left unattended.
