Garry O'Connor pleads not guilty to drugs charges
Former Hibernian, Lokomotiv Moscow and Birmingham City footballer Garry O'Connor has pleaded not guilty to charges that allege he was caught by police possessing cocaine.
The 29-year-old also plead not guilty, at Edinburgh Sheriff Court before Sheriff William Holligan, to attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Mr O'Connor, from East Lothian, was arrested by police near Edinburgh's Playhouse Theatre on 2 December 2012.
The trial was set for 3 July 2012.
The Crown also claims that, when officers detained him, Mr O'Connor provided them with a false address and tried to pervert the course of justice.
Mr O'Connor, the striker capped 16 times for Scotland, is currently seeking new employers after being released by Russian second-tier club Tom Tomsk in December.
He had two spells with Hibs, signing for a second time after exiting Barnsley in 2011 before leaving for Siberia in the summer.
