Fatal road crash victim named as Minnie Hamilton

An elderly woman who died in hospital after being hit by a car has been named by police.

Minnie Hamilton, 94, from Balerno on the outskirts of Edinburgh, was walking in Bavelaw Road on Monday 10 December when she was hit by a blue Citroen C8.

The pensioner was taken for treatment to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary following the incident at 11:20.

Her condition deteriorated and she died two days later. Lothian and Borders Police are now appealing for witnesses.
