North Berwick fire station: Firefighters move to new base
Fire crews have had to deal with heavy smoke and freezing weather conditions
Firefighters left homeless after their station was badly damaged in a blaze in East Lothian are moving into a new temporary base.
Investigations are still under way into how the North Berwick station caught fire shortly after 05:00 on Monday.
Throughout this week, replacement fire engines, uniforms and kit have been sourced for the North Berwick brigade.
The town's fire cover will be temporarily based in a yard on a local industrial estate from Friday morning.
It is hoped a new permanent fire station will eventually be built of the site of the old one.
Lothian and Borders Fires and Rescue Service said the original building and two appliances inside it had been badly damaged.
At the height of the blaze, 40 crew were involved in tackling the fire on Station Road.
