Two men charged with attempted murder in Dalkeith

Two men aged 37 and 38 have been cautioned and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Midlothian on Sunday.

A 43-year-old man was found lying in a stairwell with serious injuries in Bruce Gardens in Dalkeith at about 18:55.

Both men are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Lothian and Borders Police has appealed for witnesses who were in the area between 18:00 and 19:00 on Sunday.
