Police identify man found dead on East Lothian beach

A man who was found dead on a beach in East Lothian has been identified by police.

James Mclardy, 64, from Leamington Road in Edinburgh, was found on 23 October in a remote spot between Gullane Point and Aberlady Bay, Gullane.

His death is not being treated as suspicious, he had no next of kin and was not carrying any ID.

Officers believe he died on the beach and his body may have lain there for a few hours.
