Pilton day centre bin fires suspicious

Fires started in two wheelie bins which were pushed up against a day centre for elderly people in Edinburgh are being treated as suspicious by police.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 19:45 on Monday, in West Pilton Park.

The bins were pushed against the wall of the Pilton Elderly Project.

No damage was sustained to the building and no-one was injured during the incident. Police said it was a "reckless act of vandalism".

Officers want to speak to two youths who were known to be in the area at the time.
