Police have recovered a boat used by two fishermen who died after falling overboard in a reservoir in Midlothain.

David Archibald, 59, and Andrew Conlon, 56, were reported missing on Sunday after failing to return from fishing at Gladhouse Reservoir in Gorebridge.

Their bodies were recovered from the water on Monday following a police and RAF helicopter search.

The boat they had been fishing from will now be examined to try to establish the cause of the tragedy.

Specialist search teams from Lothian and Borders Police recovered it from the water on Friday.

They had been using sonar equipment to locate the vessel.

Earlier this week Mr Archibald's family paid tribute to him.

His wife, Heather, described him as "a devoted and loving husband and father".
