Police name man killed after being hit by lorry on Edinburgh city bypass

A man who died after he was hit by a lorry on the Edinburgh city bypass has been named by police.

Paul Coutts, 35, from Haddington, died as a result of injuries he sustained in the incident, which took place at 23:40 on Friday, about half a mile east of the Sheriffhall roundabout.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

Lothian and Borders Police said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and have appealed for witnesses.

Mr Coutts' wife, Laura said: "Paul's death is an absolute tragedy and has left us all devastated.

"He was loved to bits and will be missed by everyone who knew and cared for him, including extended family, friends and especially his daughter."
