Man hurt in fall at Holyrood Park

A man was injured when he fell 100ft (30m) at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh, the fire service said.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Hangman's Rock at about 21:00 BST on Friday.

Firefighters reached the man, 37, by taking a boat over Duddingston Loch. He was stretchered on to the boat before being handed over to ambulance staff.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said he was taken to the city's Royal Infirmary.
