West Lothian men in court over Armadale murder attempt

Two men have appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of two men in West Lothian.

A 34-year-old and a 41-year-old were taken to St John's Hospital in Livingston following an incident in Armadale at 1615 GMT on Saturday.

Anthony McDyre, 30, from Armadale, and James McDyre Hutton, 33, from Whitburn, West Lothian, appeared on petition at Livingston Sheriff Court.

They made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.

The case was continued for further inquiries.

Both were charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and attempted murder.

Mr Hutton was also charged with a second offence of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Both accused are due to make a second appearance in court next week.
