Glasgow 2014: Glasgow Hydro turns gold in 30 seconds

30 July 2014 Last updated at 00:05 BST

Glasgow's Hydro stadium turned gold in honour of the record medal haul achieved by Team Scotland in the Commonwealth Games.

On day six Scotland's silver and bronze medal haul took the host nation's total to 37 medals. The haul of 33 at Edinburgh 1986 had been Scotland's previous Games best.

TSSE Hydro had tweeted the news earlier in the day: "In honour of the record medal haul from Team Scotland at Glasgow 2014, the Hydro building will turn gold at 9:30pm tonight."

The Hydro changed to gold over an hour and a half as the sun set over the city.

The video has been speeded up in playback so you can watch the full effect in 30 seconds.
