Scottish teams' chances of progressing beyond the second qualifying round of the Europa League hang in the balance after all three teams drew first legs.

Best result of the night was in Switzerland, where St Johnstone drew 1-1 with Luzern.

Motherwell squandered a healthy two-goal lead before drawing 2-2 at home to Icelandic side Stjarnan.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Groningen from the Netherlands.

The second legs of the Europa League ties take place on Thursday 24 July.

Scottish champions Celtic defeated KR Reykjavik 1-0 in Iceland in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier on Tuesday.
