Pedestrian crossing app goes on trial in Edinburgh

Crossing the road at a busy junction can be difficult , if not dangerous, especially for those with a disability.

A new system has gone on trial in Edinburgh that could make it less of an ordeal.

The mobile phone app can activate the button on a pedestrian crossing when a visually impaired person or person someone with restricted mobility is waiting to cross.

BBC Scotland's Ian Hamilton reports.
