Glasgow 2014: First run around new Hampden athletics track

4 June 2014 Last updated at 16:03 BST

The revamped athletics track at Hampden Park has been unveiled, a month ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The football arena has been reworked as an athletics venue by raising the pitch on a bed of metal stilts.

About £14m has been spent fitting the stadium out for the track and field events.

BBC Radio 5 live Drive reporter James Shaw put on his running shoes and went to test it out.

The transformed Hampden will host almost 50 track and field events
