4 June 2014 Last updated at 13:27 BST

The work to prepare Hampden Park to host the athletic events in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games is complete.

To make the football arena work as an athletics venue, the pitch was raised by almost two metres on a bed of metal stilts.

Eilish McColgan, who is aiming to compete in the Glasgow Games for Team Scotland, took the first run on the track.

BBC Scotland's Chris McLaughlin reports.
