Nicola Benedetti's advice to aspiring musicians

16 May 2014 Last updated at 15:14 BST

The finals of the BBC's Young Musician competition will be held in Edinburgh on Sunday.

It will be the first time the final has been staged at the Usher Hall since Scot Nicola Benedetti won the title as a 16-year-old violinist.

Ten years on, she will be returning as the competition's ambassador.

BBC Scotland's arts correspondent Pauline McLean asked her what advice she will give this year's winner.
