Aberdeen Maternity Hospital given one month to clean up

12 May 2014 Last updated at 14:34 BST

Aberdeen Maternity Hospital has been given one month to clean up its theatres following another critical report from inspectors.

The Healthcare Environment Inspectorate had ordered NHS Grampian to clean up the wards and theatres after inspections last summer and autumn.

An unannounced inspection in March found contaminated instrument trays, high levels of dust and holes in the ceiling of the labour ward and in the corridor leading to the theatres.

NHS Grampian has said refurbishment work being undertaken at the time of inspection has now been completed.
