SNP conference: Sturgeon appeals to Labour to vote Yes to independence

11 April 2014 Last updated at 17:31 BST

Nicola Sturgeon has appealed to Labour voters to say "Yes" to an independent Scotland when they go to the polls on 18 September.

She told SNP members that the pro-independence campaign could rejuvenate Scottish Labour by freeing it from Westminster control.

Ms Sturgeon said: "For everyone out there with Labour in your heart the message is clear, 'Don't vote No to stop the SNP, vote Yes to reclaim the Labour Party'."

The deputy first minister was making her keynote speech at the SNP spring conference in Aberdeen.
