Scottish Tory conference: Cameron says vote will be 'life-changing decision'

14 March 2014 Last updated at 15:13 GMT

David Cameron has described the referendum on Scottish independence as "a major life-changing decision".

The prime minister made reference to warnings from the governor of the Bank of England, the president of the European Commission and some industry leaders when he urged caution in the referendum: "You should not make a decision about changing your nation forever without knowing, in full, what the consequences will be."

Mr Cameron made the comment during a speech to the Scottish Conservative Party conference in Edinburgh.

Voters in Scotland will go to the polls on 18 September.
