Heart transplants triple in one year in Scotland

The number of people receiving a heart transplant in Scotland has tripled within the space of a year.

Figures show that 24 heart transplants took place in 2013, compared to eight the year before.

The number of people becoming organ donors also increased from 86 to 113 which enabled 331 people to receive a transplant.
