Further snow falls hit higher routes across Scotland

SNOW ON A82 The A82 was closed because of poor conditions between Tyndrum and Bridge of Orchy

Snow falls have been causing problems on some roads across Scotland.

The A82 was closed for a time on Tuesday evening due to blizzard conditions between Tyndrum and Bridge of Orchy.

A number of vehicles were believed to have become stuck. Police and road agency Bear North West were assisting those who became trapped.

Traffic Scotland urged drivers to check their cameras before heading out on Wednesday morning.

Conditions were also bad on the A85 at Dalmally, the A82 at Glencoe, the A830 at Glenfinnan and the A87 at Glenshiel.

On Tuesday morning snow and sleet caused tricky conditions on higher routes.

Gritters were out around the country and Bear Scotland advised motorists to be ready for winter if they were making a journey.
