Moray A96 crash leaves elderly pedestrian, 80, dead

An elderly female pedestrian has died after a collision with a car on a busy road in Moray.

Police said the woman, 80, who has not been named, died at the scene on the A96 at Alves Woods between Forres and Elgin.

The incident happened at about 17:45 and involved a black Vauxhall Vectra saloon. The driver was unhurt.

The road was closed after the accident for an investigation to be carried out.
