World's oldest clipper ship bound for Adelaide

6 September 2013 Last updated at 14:58 BST

The world's oldest clipper ship, the City of Adelaide, has begun its journey from the Scottish Maritime Museum in Ayrshire to the state of South Australia.

The museum, in Irvine, salvaged the boat when it sank in the River Clyde but was never able to restore it.

Despite a campaign to return the clipper ship to Sunderland, where it was built, the Scottish government has decided that the only viable way to save the boat was to send it halfway around the world.
