The UK's biggest indie computer-games festival has begun in Dundee.

Around 10,000 people are expected at the event organised by Abertay University whose game design courses have helped place the city at the centre of the industry in the UK.

Dare Protoplay is the culmination of the international video games design competition Dare to be Digital.

Ian Livingston, creator of Tomb Raider, said: "I am really impressed with what is happening here".
