9 July 2013 Last updated at 17:41 BST

Construction has begun on two 100ft tall kelpies along the Forth and Clyde Canal as part of the £43m Helix project at Falkirk.

Glasgow-based sculptor Andy Scott was inspired by Celtic water spirits when he designed the structure.

Work on the 43 tonne steel-plated structures is expected to be completed by September.
