Lord Cullen on Piper Alpha disaster

Lord Cullen has given his first major interview on the Piper Alpha disaster.

The tragedy on the oil rig in the North Sea killed 167 men in 1988.

Lord Cullen chaired the inquiry into the explosion and produced the template for future offshore safety.

Later in June he will be taking part in a conference on lessons learned from the tragedy.
