Buckfast distributors to sue police over 'crime' labels
The distributors of Buckfast are taking legal action against Strathclyde police over a practice called bottle marking.
The force has asked some retailers to attach police stickers to bottles of the tonic wine and some other alcoholic drinks.
The idea being that bottles found at scenes of a crime can be traced back to their place of sale.
Distributors say it stigmatises the brand.
