Edinburgh-bound Easyjet plane makes emergency landing at Luton

A plane bound for Edinburgh was forced to make an emergency landing at Luton Airport on Hogmanay, it has emerged.

The Easyjet flight from Geneva had 151 passengers and crew on board.

The airline said the pilot had shut down the engine of the Airbus A319 as a precaution following an oil leak.

"The safety of its passengers and crew is Easyjet's highest priority," said the spokeswoman. The passengers completed their journey to Edinburgh on a different plane.
