Proud parents have been celebrating the arrival of Scotland's first Christmas babies.

Luke was born at 01:14 to Prestonpans couple Julie Knight and William Reid, at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, weighing in at 8lbs.

Another boy was born at St John's Hospital in Livingston shortly afterwards. Antonia McLean, 26, and Colin McLean, 32, welcomed baby Cody into the world at 01:32.

The newborn weighed 8lb 9.5oz.

The first baby born at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert was a girl weighing 7lb 10oz.

Myah was born to parents Becky Thompson and Chris Docherty at 03:20 and staff said they would be leaving hospital soon to spend their first Christmas together at home.
