Police identify body in water in Broxburn

Police in West Lothian have identified the man found dead in a stretch of water in Broxburn on Saturday.

The body was discovered in a burn near the bridge at Holmes Court, by a member of the public at about 09:00.

The name of the man, who had been described as white and middle-aged, has not been released.

Officers have yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the man's death and were appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

In particular, police are keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may have heard a disturbance or seen anyone in the water near to where he was found, between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
