Scottish independence: Keeping the lights on after 2014
The UK government has claimed electricity bills in Scotland could rise after independence because of the cost of developing renewable energy.
SNP ministers have dismissed the warning, arguing the rest of the UK will have to import renewable energy from Scotland if it is to keep the lights on and meet climate change targets.
