A new exhibition documenting Scotland's history of map making will open at the National Library of Scotland.

John Bartholomew and Son was a leader in cartography, developing techniques we now take for granted.

Archives belonging to the firm were given to the National Library of Scotland when the firm's headquarters closed in 1995.

The display will open at the National Library of Scotland on 7 December and will run until 7 May 2013.
