A Galloway farmer has beaten off opposition from two multi-national companies to win a coveted prize in the world of DIY.
Alistair Taylor's home-made device to attach things such as paint cans to ladders has been named UK hand tool of the year.
His "ladder limb" is now attracting sales and interest from all over the world.
