Scotland's road markings 'worst in the UK'

Help

Around 40% of the road markings on Scotland's dual carriageways and motorways need immediate replacement, according to a new report.

The Road Safety Markings Association claims the state of Scotland's road markings is the worst in the UK and as the days grow shorter the dangers to drivers posed by poor markings could prove acute.

George Lee, national director of the Road Safety Markings Association, has spoken to BBC Scotland's Gary Robertson.

He said: "This is a crisis because of the failing level of maintenance".
