High speed rail link for Scotland

Help

The Scottish Government has said a high speed rail link could connect Glasgow and Edinburgh within 12 years.

It wants to press ahead with the line before the UK government has committed to bringing its High Speed 2 project north of the border.

If it goes ahead, trains could reach speeds of up to 180 miles an hour between Scotland's two biggest cities.
