Halls bidder: 'Vion did not do enough'

One of the companies which bid to save Halls of Broxburn has attacked the plant's Dutch owners for failing to do enough to save the factory.

Vion announced the decision to close on Monday afternoon meaning 1,700 people are set to lose their jobs.

Steve Green of Graf Capitals said: "We have communicated to Vion on a number of occasions it was our intention, it was our plan, to save as many jobs in Broxburn as we could."
