Three due in court after body found in Aberdeen lane

Three people are expected to appear in court after a man was found dead in an Aberdeen street, police have said.

An inquiry was launched after the body of 31-year-old Peter Newell was found in Grampian Lane in the Torry area of the city late on Thursday evening.

Grampian Police said a 31-year-old man had been detained over the death of Mr Newell, who was from Aberdeen.

Two women, aged 22 and 30, have also been charged over the incident, the force said.

A report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
