A9 upgrade preliminary contracts awarded

The first steps to design new dual carriageway on the A9 between Perth and Inverness have been announced.

The Scottish government has awarded two major contracts to engineering and environmental assessment consultants.

Work to dual the A9 all the way between the two cities is due to be completed by 2025.

Halcrow will carry out preliminary environmental assessment work and Jacobs will then provide preliminary engineering work.
