Bothy restoration project begins
They can be one of the most welcoming of sights to a walker lost on Scotland's hills but many of our bothies are in need of an upgrade.
The Mountain Bothies Association has begun a programme of repairs on some of the worst kept refuges.
A work party began restoration at a much-used emergency shelter in a remote corner of the Cairngorms.
