Michael Moore: 'We still don't agree' on independence referendum timing

Help

No agreement has been reached on the timing of a referendum on independence, Scottish Secretary Michael Moore has said.

Speaking after a meeting with First Minister Alex Salmond in Edinburgh, Mr Moore said the vote should be held "sooner rather than later".

He said there was still disagreement over the voting age and how many questions would be asked in the referendum.

However, the Scottish secretary added that the two government were working to establish common ground, and said it was important to make progress on the areas where there was agreement.
