Child poverty in Scotland widespread and rising

The idea of large numbers of children living below the poverty line sounds Dickensian but it is a problem that blights many areas of Scotland in the 21st Century.

The true extent of child poverty has been revealed and it exists beyond the inner cities.

Campaigners have warned rising unemployment is making the situation worse.
