As Edinburgh's festival season winds down, the public are being invited to submit ideas on how to improve the experience.
The Ideas Challenge, which is run by the Edinburgh Festivals Innovation Lab, will be judged by a panel including BBC arts editor Will Gompertz.
Ideas submitted so far include tour guides to help people find venues, discount cards for locals, and paying for shows via a top-up swipe card.
Others suggested streaming video from sold out shows to other sites or to a subscription website.
Updates to ticketing technology were popular suggestions with ideas from successful online retailers such as Amazon being recommended.
There was also a suggestion that people who bought tickets online should be able to go back and review them.
The Ideas Challenge continues until 31 October. There are prizes for the winning entries.
