Statins drug trial for pre-eclampsia offers hope

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh have started a drugs trial which, if successful, could save the lives of thousands of mothers-to-be and their babies around the world and save millions of pounds in health care costs.

Pre-eclampsia, a potentially fatal condition, could be prevented by using statins which are normally used to combat heart disease.
