David Cameron: School attendance 'absolutely essential'

Prime Minister David Cameron has said he wants to crack down on truancy in England, saying school attendance is "absolutely essential".
He has warned parents face fines if their children fail to turn up to school and these will be taken out of child benefit payments if necessary.
The prime minister said it was up to parents to "make sure your children attend school" and avoid sanctions.
