Douglas Carswell calls Tories 'out-of-touch elites'

Douglas Carswell has said the Conservative party is run by "out-of-touch elites".

The former Tory MP left the Conservatives to join UKIP and plans to stand for Nigel Farage's party in his former constituency, Clacton in Essex.

He is currently campaigning in the constituency, from where Allegra Stratton reports.
