Parliament should be recalled from its summer recess over the crackdown by Islamist militants on minorities in Iraq, Sir Menzies Campbell has said.
The former Lid Dem leader's view contradicts that of Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, who rejected the idea before a meeting of No 10's emergency committee, Cobra.
Sir Menzies told Radio 4's World at One that Parliament should have the opportunity to hear "everything the government has done and... is intending to do."
