Scotland debate: Salmond asks Darling same question 21 times

5 August 2014 Last updated at 22:24 BST

Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling have been going head to head in a TV debate ahead of the Scottish independence referendum.

Mr Salmond asked Mr Darling whether he agreed with David Cameron when he said "it would be wrong to suggest Scotland could not be another successful independent country."

The first minister went on to pose the question to the leader of the Better Together campaign a further 20 times - after not being satisfied with Mr Darling's answers.

The debate was first broadcast on the Scottish television network STV.
